A: The community is sponsored by, and will be operated by, the Presbyterian Home of Maryland, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit retirement community located in Towson, MD. With over 126 years of dedication to the residents of Baltimore County, the CEO and volunteer Board of Directors decided to expand their vision, mission and values by developing Harford County, Maryland’s first CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community).

A: There are many amenities at Carsins Run, including 3 dining choices with a flexible meal plan, fitness area with state-of-the-art exercise equipment and aerobic classes, beauty & barber salon, gardening areas, convenience market, library areas, business center with internet access, ATM, arts studio, rooms for an assortment of activities, and much more. Q: What services will The Village at Carsins Run provide as part of the monthly fee?
A: Everything you can imagine! Activities to enhance the lives of all of our residents, maintenance and grounds keeping, bi-monthly housekeeping, scheduled transportation, fitness and recreational activities, and a continuum of Health Care services including licensed Assisted Living services and comprehensive nursing services, and more. Q: What fees will residents pay at The Village at Carsins Run?
A: Carsins Run residents will pay a one-time Entrance Fee, then a Monthly Fee upon moving into the community. The Entrance Fee allows residents use of the apartment or cottage, common areas such as walking paths and natural outdoor space and courtyards, safety features and healthcare on-site if needed. The Entrance Fee and Monthly Fee vary based upon the size of the residence chosen. Schedule a meeting with a Carsins Run Retirement Counselor to find out more details.

Q: Is the Entrance Fee or Monthly Fee subject to change?
A: Carsins Run will adjust fees at a rate that reflects costs of operation and maintenance of appropriate reserves on a sound financial basis. Notification of any increase in the Monthly Fee will be given no less than 45 days in advance. This adjustment generally occurs on an annual basis.

Q: What happens if a resident runs out of money?
A: Carsins Run will set-aside funds for benevolence should our residents health care costs exceed their ability to pay for the services. Speak with a Carsins Run Retirement Counselor for more details about this assistance.

Q: Can a resident be admitted directly to health care, by passing independent living?
A: Carsins Run will accept residents directly into the Assisted Living residence, but only if there is space available without jeopardizing the needs of Carsins Run residents. Residents desiring direct admission to the Assisted Living residency follow the stated admissions procedures for residency to Carsins Run. Carsins Run cannot allow residents to be directly admitted for comprehensive nursing care.

Q: What healthcare is available at The Village at Carsins Run?
A: Carsins Run will provide a continuum of health care services. Apartments and cottages will be equipped with a 24-hour a day emergency response system, and Home Support services will be available as well. The Carsins Run Health Center will provide 20 residences in the “neighborhood model”, each including a private bedroom and a private bath. The Health Center will provide Assisted Living services for people who need assistance in the activities of daily life, and comprehensive nursing services with 24-hour care.

Q: Does The Village at Carsins Run allow pets?
A: Yes, pets are permitted in independent living cottages and apartment, upon approval by management and subject to Carsins Run’s stated pet policies. Dog walking and running areas will be provided on the campus.
